What is Barakel like?

Our property is located in Michigan’s northern lower peninsula where we are surrounded by forested hills and valleys in all directions. Shear Lake sits in a valley nestled among mature pine, oak, birch, cedar, and poplar trees where it forms the center of two self-sufficient camp facilities.

Activities

With activities for all four seasons, we are serious about having fun. Whether quietly kayaking Shear Lake, roaring down the tubing hill in Snow Valley, or flying across our 950-foot zipline, Barakel is fun for all ages.

Facilities

Over the years, we have worked diligently to set our buildings in their environment so that the beauty of God’s creation predominates. Our more than 40 buildings are carefully laid out to blend with the surrounding forest.
