The northern Michigan Januarys turn Camp Barakel into a winter playground and this weekend getaway is made just for fathers and daughters. Spend time together in God’s creation, slow down a little and reflect on what God has said in His Word. Bring as many daughters as you have, as long as they are at least in third grade. Younger daughters will have the option of attending a Chapel planned just for them. Daughters will stay in separate sleeping units from the dads. Younger daughters who don’t come with an older sister will be housed in units with a Camp-provided “Big Sister” to attend to their needs during sleeping times. Barakel’s Big Sisters have served as counselors during summer camp.

*The waitlist is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Everyone should bring a Bible, notebook, bedding for a twin-sized bunk bed, pillow, towel, toiletries, boots, gloves, and warm, casual clothing.
We check out skates, cross-country skis, and snowshoes, or you may bring your own if you’d like.
The hockey rink requires a helmet. We’ll have plenty, but you can bring your own.
Our aim is for you to grow closer to the Lord this weekend, and hearing the Word of God taught is the primary way we accomplish this in the Barakel setting.
We expect that everyone will attend Chapel services, and we’ll do our best to make them a highlight of your weekend.
Special Chapel services are planned for younger daughters on Saturday and Sunday (daughters stay with their fathers on Friday evening).
